Kutani Ware 10-go Kodzuchi Mori - Ichidai no Kodzuchi (Magic Mallet) - Kodzuchi Mori - Width 31.5
Kutani Ware 10-go Kodzuchi - Mori Style - Lucky Mallet, Mori Style, Width 31.5cm
This is a Uchide no Kodzuchi (lucky mallet) ornament made from Kutani Ware, a representative traditional craft of Ishikawa Prefecture. The Uchide no Kodzuchi is known as a possession of Daikokuten (god of wealth) and is believed to produce anything desired when shaken, making it a popular symbol of business prosperity and good fortune.
The three-dimensional decoration on the surface is a unique Kutani Ware technique called Mori, where thick layers of paint are applied to create a distinctive textured and luxurious feel. Auspicious patterns such as pine, bamboo, plum, cranes, and turtles are often depicted in vibrant colors, making it popular for celebrations and as gifts.
