Vintage Traditional Craft: Adorably Cute Papier-Mâché Dog

This is a vintage hariko dog (also resembles a cat) figurine.

Hariko, made by layering Japanese paper and other materials, is a traditional Japanese craft symbolizing Japanese culture.

The eyes, meticulously hand-painted by an artisan, are exquisite, and the balance of colors in the body's pattern is beautifully artistic.

It has a wonderfully charming face that brings a sense of healing.

Dogs, known for having many offspring, symbolize good luck in childbirth, pregnancy, and prosperity of descendants.

It has a strong presence, enhances any interior, and provides a sense of comfort. It also makes a striking New Year's decoration.
