Iwate Traditional Crafts Folk Toy [Chaguchagu Umako] Wood Carving Doll Folkcraft Antique

Thank you for looking.

This is a wooden carved doll of the famous traditional craft from Iwate Prefecture, Chagu Chagu Umako.
It is colored in vibrant red, yellow, and blue on a black base, and is a piece that conveys the warmth and strength unique to hand-painting. Materials like hemp string (or horsehair) are used for the horse's mane and tail, and it is carefully crafted down to the smallest details.

We think it would be a great addition not only as interior decor for a Japanese-style room, but also as an accent for a modern room, or as part of your collection of regional folk toys.

Regarding Condition:
As this is an old item, please check the images for minor scuffs, dullness in color, and the texture of the wood on the bottom due to age. We hope to pass it on to someone who can enjoy it as the charm of a vintage or folk craft item.
