A collaboration series between Kyushu-born artists produced by HIGHTIDE and Kyushu's traditional crafts.
This is a collaboration between KYNE, a graphic artist who draws modern bijin-ga (pictures of beautiful women) with simple lines reminiscent of the 80s, and Yoshimasa Matsuo, a Hakata Doll craftsman specializing in bijin mono (works featuring beautiful women).
Based on a clay prototype, after repeated discussions,
the 400-year-old tradition of Hakata Dolls has been enhanced with the delicate expressions of modern people.
Mr. Matsuo handled all processes from prototype creation to coloring.
