Udo Jingu Shrine Udosan Wedding Horse Bell
Udo-san Shanshan-uma Bell from Udo Shrine, Miyazaki Prefecture
In the Miyazaki region, from the Edo to Meiji periods, there was a custom for newlywed couples to honeymoon at Udo Shrine. The beautifully decorated horse used to carry the bride during this time was called the Shanshan-uma, a very auspicious horse.
It has been cherished and stored, only taken out of its box a few times, so there are almost no dirt or scratches. However, there is some dirt on the soles of its feet.
As it has been stored at home, please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned.
Please check the photos for the condition.
The pink mane is personally very adorable and a recommended feature.
It is a simple clay bell. Please note that the box has discoloration due to long-term storage.
We hope it finds its way to someone who will cherish it.
Thank you.
