This is an iron kettle from Nambu Morioka, with the maker's mark Teru Teru Do.
It is believed to have been produced around the early Showa period.
A beautiful piece with the solid casting texture characteristic of Nambu ironware and a delicate arare (hailstone) pattern.
It is usable (confirmed no leaks), and not only as a tea ceremony or sencha tea utensil, but also has a strong presence for display in Japanese spaces or shops.
Rust is visible inside due to age.
There are also scuffs and damage on the exterior consistent with its age.
