Uyghur Instrument: Dotar
It is a string instrument so popular in Uyghur that it's said to be one per household.
Dutar means two strings (du for two, tar for strings), and as the name suggests, it is skillfully played with two strings.
There are many similar instruments found from West Asia to Central Asia, such as the Turkish saz, Iranian tar, and Kazakh dombra, which are also Brother instruments.
It is widely used for accompanying folk songs, as well as for the Uyghur classical Muqam.
