Vintage Mid-1990s Kenzo Men’s Black Leather Monkstrap Sandals Kenzo France Rare

Item description from the seller Subdued panache from the late Franco-Japanese designer Kenzo Takada, blending Japanese and Western culture into a warm-weather fashion statement. Think black or navy linen suit worn with a striped mariner shirt. These sandals are about as close as they can come to being shoes without being shoes, for they artfully conceal most of the bare skin that sandals usually like to parade. A chic bicultural nod to Japanese monk shoes and kōshi-do, or lattice doors, and to Western baby shoes and Mary Janes, these sandals make a witty, ultra-sophisticated statement about ageless, universal fashion and the genius of place.  Purchased in Paris. Very good vintage condition, due to the incomparable quality and taste for which the brand is known. Size 12 US, size 45 France. Light wear on the front left sole, on the back of the left heel and the back right of the right heel. A few scuffs easily buffed out and/or concealed with Saphir. The short nylon parts of the tabs of the buckles are frayed from age but still robust (the fraying is invisible when the straps are closed). The insole from the left sandal seems to be missing; the lining is all leather, so it’s hard to tell. They are wearable effortlessly all day as is, but I am including a pair of brand new Belgian-made Saphir luxury leather insoles with cork bottoms to ensure the buyer’s absolute comfort and satisfaction. All other signs of wear are visible in the photos. Single owner.  Shoe trees not included.
