A Treasury of Great Recipes (1974) is culinary travelogue meets cookbook, compiled & created by legendary horror actor Vincent Price and his wife, Mary. It features famous recipes from the world’s most elite restaurants—like The Ivy and Sardi's—their original menus have been made accessible for everyday home cooks. True to Price's unpretentious love of food, the book seamlessly pairs high-end gourmet dishes like Steak Diane down through simple favorites, like a Dodger Stadium hot dog.  GUVC - nominal shelf wear w one-sided small split at the spine…minor cover indentations on the (still puffy) distinctive padded faux-leather cover with the  decorative styling and gilt print  well-maintained and unaffected by time. The built-in silk bookmark is intact, the pages are crisp and illustrations are bold and rich.   Some of the pages featured above are highlights from when  the original owner either: a.) boiled over or exploded an attempt at dinner; b) forgot to keep a towel within reach; or (this is my fave imagined scenario) c.) their significant other snuck up & surprised them, so the wine went spilling  and the book went sliding…  take your pick or create your own storyline for this cookbook collection & horror movie buff must-have.
