Gerz
Vintage GERZ German Hunting Beer Stein Fox Handle Waidmanns Heil Pewter Lid 11 Vintage German GERZ beer stein featuring an elaborate raised-relief hunting scene with forest imagery, game animals and hunting dogs. The standout feature is the dimensional fox-shaped handle, beautifully incorporated into the hunting theme. The stein features rich brown and dark relief decoration accented by deep cobalt blue glazed bands at the rim and base. The molded inscription “Waidmanns Heil!” is a traditional German hunting expression meaning approximately “Good hunting” or “Hunter’s luck.” Finished with an ornate hinged pewter-tone lid with embossed decorative detailing. The underside of the lid is marked DBGM, a German registered-design designation. The bottom is marked GERZ, Made in Germany, and “Seit 1862,” meaning “Since 1862” and referring to the history of the GERZ company rather than the production date of this stein. A substantial and unusual vintage stein with wonderful dimensional detail. Excellent for a German stein collection, hunting or lodge decor, bar display, woodland collection or gift for a hunter. Condition Very good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Metal lid has patina, oxidation and surface wear consistent with age. No major chips or cracks observed. Please review photos closely for condition and details.
