Description
Add a classic touch of English porcelain history to your collection with this vintage fine bone china duo. Adorned in a striking magenta-mulberry transferware style, the set pairs a dense, texturized exterior leaf chintz with an oversized botanical motif lining the cup's interior. Finished with elegant scalloped rims and a gilded handle, it strikes a brilliant balance between traditional romanticism and striking visual contrast. Both pieces feature matching, hand-applied gold gilder tally marks next to the factory backstamp. This subtle artisan detail confirms that the cup and saucer were finished by the same craftsman and have remained an intact, original pair since leaving the English pottery line. • Creator: Coalport • Medium: Fine Bone China / Transferware • Dimensions: Cup: ~4.5 W (with handle) x 2.25 H; Saucer: ~5.75 Diameter • Era: c. 1940s • Condition: Excellent vintage condition
