Vintage “Pickle Dish” Handmade Quilt. Red and White intricate design that crosses a Pickle Dish with Ocean Waves. Solid White backside. All hand quilted and hand pieced. Actual age unknown, but was acquired as part of a lot of quilts signed and dated from the 1920s and 1930s out of Texas. Thin, gauzy cotton. Beautiful, even with imperfections!!  This quilt shows imperfections consistent with age and use, including tattering, exposed batting, wear on the blocks and appliqués, fading, worse in some areas than others, seam separations, discoloration and stains. It has some yellow staining/discoloration across large parts of the quilt. It also has some dark staining that I’m not sure what it is or if it will come out or lighten. This staining also runs along the entire middle fold line of the quilt. SEE ALL PICTURES FOR CONDITION!! The quilt has a vintage storage smell as it’s been stored for years and years.  **PLEASE NOTE: Due to different laundering and detergent preferences, I have not washed this quilt and will leave the cleaning up to the new owner.** I believe a lot of the discoloration will come out or lighten with a gentle soak.
