Description
Maker: Harrach Glassworks (Bohemia / Czech) Era: Late Victorian / Aesthetic Movement (Circa 1880–1890) Material: Semi-opaque satin/matte uranium art glass (Burmese style) Decoration: Hand-painted enamel wildflowers and foliage Markings: Hand-painted factory registry code f. 291. on the base An exceptional piece of late 19th-century European art glass, this antique Bohemian vase was crafted by the renowned Harrach Glassworks during the height of the Victorian Aesthetic Movement. The vase features a beautifully proportioned, elegant neck and bulbous body made of semi-opaque, satin-finish art glass that mimics the highly sought-after Burmese style. Under normal lighting, it has a soft, delicate custard-cream hue. When exposed to 395nm UV/blacklight, it displays a brilliant, intense green fluorescence characteristic of high-quality antique uranium glass. The body is meticulously decorated with freehand, hand-painted enamel illustrations of delicate wildflowers, fine stems, and intricate leaves. The underside of the base clearly displays the original, intact hand-painted black enamel factory registry number f. 291., which confirms its authentic Bohemian workshop origin. A stellar addition to any uranium glass, vaseline glass, or antique Bohemian art glass collection. As is condition.
