This is a high-quality item, handmade by a woodcraftsman in Shizuoka, featuring a carefully crafted black lacquer finish and seamless metal fittings.
We believe it would be suitable for Hinamatsuri (Girls' Day) celebrations, as well as for use in ryokans, traditional Japanese houses turned cafes, and events.
The kichō (folding screen) is made from re-tailored baby clothes and is a very luxurious decoration. It is available for separate purchase for boys and girls.
As it has been stored for many years, there are some areas where verdigris has formed on the metal fittings. Please understand this as a characteristic of antique Japanese furniture and folk crafts.
