Description
Vintage Japanese Satsuma Mille Fleur Ginger Jar. Satsuma ware is a type of Japanese earthenware pottery that originated in the Satsuma province of Japan. The term Mille Fleur is French for thousand flowers, which describes the dense, intricate floral pattern on the jar. The piece is hand-painted with a variety of flowers, including chrysanthemums, peonies, and daisies with gold gilt accents. The jar is likely from the Meiji period (1868-1912) or early 20th century. Total height is approximately 11 inches. There is a chip on the lid, I touched it up with gold paint but it is visible. See last photos for close ups. Very good vintage condition. Buy with confidence, I have great reviews and ship daily with care from a pet and smoke free home. Bundle to save on shipping. I am happy to answer questions.
