Price reduced ☆ Extremely rare item ★ Samulnori Sogo (small drum)
This is a Sogo (small drum), a traditional Korean percussion instrument used in Nongak (traditional Korean folk music and dance). It is held and struck while dancing.
Nongak was modernly arranged in the 1970s by Samulnori, a group of four super stage artists who deliver breathtaking percussion performances.
This item was given to me by Kim Duk-soo, the founder and leader of Samulnori, in 1987 when I assisted with a workshop in Nagano Prefecture.
Kim Duk-soo has also collaborated with Ryuichi Sakamoto on works such as ZERO LANDMINE/N.M.L. I heard that his son is involved in a percussion musical using kitchenware called NANTA.
---------------------------------
The striking sticks are not included.
Size: Diameter 20.5cm, handle approximately 10.5cm, total length including protrusions approximately 33cm.
Weight: Approximately 213g.
I saw it on television, but I believe stylish white Sogo drums were used to cheer at the 2018 Winter Pyeongchang Olympics.
There are scratches and signs of age-related wear, but the sound remains unchanged.
This is a very precious item that I am fond of, so I may withdraw the listing.
I would like to pass it on to someone who understands and will cherish it.
