Paulownia chest of drawers, white, wax finish, three-tier stacked
I'm not exactly sure, but it's likely over 80 years old. It's at least 70 years old.
I don't know the manufacturer.
It is white.
As I don't have much knowledge, I asked my mother, and it seems to be coated with wax all over.
・Condition
Some handles move smoothly, while others are a bit stiff, but none seem to be loose (or about to break).
As it is quite old, it is not perfectly clean, but I think it is generally in good condition.
All doors have locks, but unfortunately, the keys have been lost.
The weight of the three stacked units is likely under 100 kg.
The top unit alone can be easily lifted by a man. A woman could also carry it.
・Points of concern
A sheet like the one in image 13 was placed inside all drawers, so the bottoms of the drawers are clean.
There are some scratch-like marks on the inside sides of the drawers. They look like white scuffs.
There is a small scratch on the front of the second drawer from the bottom (image 15).
The largest scratch on the entire unit is on the right side panel when viewed from the front (image 16), and there is some distortion in the connecting hardware (image 17).
I tried detaching and reattaching the hardware a couple of times. While it's a bit harder to connect, it does connect without issue. It doesn't tilt either.
・Size
My photography skills aren't great, so the measurements on the tape measure aren't clear, but when stacked as three units:
Height: approximately 160 cm
Width: approximately 88 cm
Depth: approximately 41 cm
Of these,
The top unit is approximately 42 cm in height.
The middle unit is approximately 52 cm in height.
The bottom unit is approximately 65 cm in height.
Storage includes:
One compartment with sliding doors in the top unit.
Three small drawers (height: approximately 10.5 cm, width: approximately 26 cm).
Three drawers in the middle unit (height: 14-15 cm).
Three drawers in the bottom unit.
The top one is the same size as the middle unit drawers, but the bottom two are slightly larger (15.5 cm - 17.5 cm).
・Other
Image 14 shows the top panel.
There is a scent of paulownia wood and insect repellent (desiccant).
I personally find it a pleasant, calming scent associated with old things, but please be aware that some people might find it unpleasant.
Please feel free to comment if you have any questions.
