Origins: The Rostand Manufacturing Company originated as a brass foundry in New England (Milford, Connecticut) during the post-Civil War era.  Evolving Catalog: Early in its history, the factory fabricated heavy hardware for maritime vessels and the U.S. Navy before shifting its primary focus toward household brasswares, fine fireplace fixtures, and decorative items.  Ecclesiastical Focus: Over time, Rostand became highly regarded for producing top-tier metal church supplies and altarware, including substantial church candlesticks, chalices, and crosses. The company eventually relocated its manufacturing operations to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. These are heavy in the hand.   Many brass items featuring this specific stamped layout were produced from the early-to-mid 20th century through the 1970s  these may be antique but definitely vintage!   9 inches tall with 3 inch bases .
