Vintage Turquoise Kilnworks Pottery Lizard Candle Holder- Made in Virgin Islands

The Kilnworks Pottery and Art Gallery

28.00 $
Description
This turquoise Lizard candle holder was hand-thrown and sculpted by The Kilnworks Pottery and Art Gallery, a famous workshop formerly located in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. It features a distinctive turquoise/aqua glossy glaze accented by a 3D applied brown terracotta salamander/lizard. The upper section features small circular cut-outs to cast geometric light patterns when a candle or tea light is lit inside. Pieces from this specific studio are highly sought after by collectors of Caribbean and studio art pottery, particularly because the studio has since closed its physical island doors. Approx. 4.5” tall and 3.5” diameter. Good vintage condition.
