This is a traditional Japanese-style low table. It features a distinctive spiral carving.
It is likely an antique item.
There are characters on the underside of the tabletop, but their meaning is unknown.

It has always been at my parents' home.
My parents collected items made of various precious woods such as ironwood (tagayasan), rosewood, and pine, so this may be one of those.
(It is heavy.)

Due to drying over time, there are gaps in the seams of the tabletop.
There are also stains, and the underside of the tabletop shows considerable deterioration.
(There were no particular issues with use.)

We kindly ask for your consideration after understanding that this is an antique item.
