Uemura Shoen "Sound of the Drum" Certificate Reproduction

Uemura Shoen The Sound of the Drum
Reproduction Print (with Certificate of Authenticity)

A masterpiece, The Sound of the Drum, by Uemura Shoen, a giant of Japanese painting, symbolizing her signature elegant women.
This work features a woman holding a drum, reminiscent of the world of Noh theater. Its highly accomplished composition leaves a lasting impression, conveying even the lingering resonance of sound within the silence.

Her crimson-based kimono is華やか (hanayaka - gorgeous/splendid) yet never leans towards being overly sensual. Combined with her soft white skin and downcast gaze, her inner tranquility and spirituality stand out. The expression, which imbues restrained movements with musical rhythm and tension, can be called a crystallization of Shoen's unique and sophisticated aesthetic sense.

The simple use of empty space in the background further enhances the presence of the figure, allowing for a full appreciation of the beauty of ma (間 - interval/space), characteristic of Japanese painting. Although a reproduction, it faithfully recreates the original's line work, colors, and dignity, making it a piece that allows you to enjoy the charm of Shoen's art with peace of mind.

The inclusion of a certificate of authenticity is also a great reassurance, making this a recommended piece for Japanese art fans and those new to Uemura Shoen's works.
It will harmonize beautifully not only in Japanese-style spaces but also in modern interiors that value tranquility, making it a dignified piece that can be cherished for a long time.
