Vintage Sterling Button Co NY Green Glass Rhinestone Filigree Brooch Art DecoEra

Beautiful vintage Sterling Button Co. N.Y. statement brooch featuring an elaborate arrangement of faceted emerald and teal-green glass stones set against an ornate openwork filigree-style metal setting.  The design features a large faceted oval center stone surrounded by an assortment of pear/teardrop, heart and round green stones, along with smaller rhinestone accents. The dimensional settings and intricate pierced metalwork give this brooch wonderful depth and sparkle.  The back is signed STERLING BUTTON CO. N.Y.  This is a substantial vintage costume jewelry piece measuring approximately 2 x 2.  Based on the construction and known examples from Sterling Button Co., this appears consistent with Art Deco-era / early vintage costume jewelry, approximately 1930s–1940s. Exact production date is unknown.  Condition  Good vintage condition with age-related wear, patina and finish variation consistent with age.  Three small accent stones appear to be missing from one area of the brooch. All of the prominent large green stones are present.
