Tatsuki Sato Sapphire Blue Sketch #2 Bokazura-kun

I am manga artist Tatsuki Sato. I am selling my daily sketches as products.

This is an impromptu drawing made with a blue colored pencil on simple paper. It includes the date and my signature. I will ship it packaged in a vinyl bag with the original artwork placed on thick paper, and attached with a handmade tag (please see photo). The tag is designed so you can push a thumbtack through it and hang it on the wall as is.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece. I did not use an eraser, so there are traces of guideline marks, smudges, and paper wrinkles. I recommend this piece to those who can appreciate it as an impromptu drawing with a sense of live energy, including these imperfections. Returns are not accepted.

Drawn on A4 size white paper using only a blue colored pencil (Caran d'Ache Sapphire Blue).

✍️ About the Artwork

This sketch was drawn impromptu on December 10th of last year. It looks like a monster chicken, or perhaps a bird-man. The crest-like part of its head is bag-shaped, like a pitcher plant. Since pitcher plants are carnivorous plants that trap and eat insects, I considered naming it Kincho (a play on katori for mosquito repellent and niwatori for chicken), but that seemed a bit too direct. I then thought of Katori-kun by replacing katori with the kanji for Katori (a surname), but I worried about angering fans of the celebrity with that name. So, I took utsu from utsubokazura (pitcher plant) and named it Bokazura-kun.
