This is a set of 6 postcards featuring the Horikiri Iris Garden, a tourist attraction that has been passed down since the Edo period. One of the postcards is by Toyokuni III.
Purchased at the gift shop during a cherry blossom viewing trip. They have been stored away after occasional viewing for over 10 years.
Would be perfect for those who enjoy easily accessible beautiful women paintings and ukiyo-e prints.
The edges of the envelope are creased, which is why it is listed as near mint condition.
A pamphlet for the adjacent restaurant (reasonably priced!) is included.
