This item is a vintage Italian Sorrento marquetry musical jewelry box. It features a distinctive heart-shaped design crafted from burl wood with an intricate, hand-set floral wood inlay (marquetry) on the lid. Boxes like this were widely handmade in Sorrento, Italy, traditionally utilizing Swiss-made musical movements by historic brands like Reuge. Some slight scratches on the top but this is in excellent condition, and the music box works!!! Just stunning.
