1940 RARE Lady Of Elche Brass Belt Buckle Goddess Witchy Ancient Female Power 3

This is a very scarce buckle . It's in wonderful condition. It would shine and sparkle if you prefer to clean it with brass polish. I love the patina but that's up to you.                                       The piece depicts an image heavily inspired by the 4th-century B.C. Iberian sculpture, The Lady of Elche (Dama de Elche).                      However, it surrounds her with faux-cuneiform or mixed stylized lettering running along the hexagonal border.                                                        The Belt Buckle Connection: While some alternative history theorists pointed to the objects as evidence of ancient transatlantic Phoenician or Carthaginian travelers in America, close physical inspection reveals they were actually cast with standard structural hardware loops on the reverse side intended precisely to mount onto a belt strap.  Modern Origin: Most historical investigators and researchers consider these medallions to be modern mid-century fabrications—likely created as decorative fashion sash or belt components around the 1940s to celebrate or replicate Spanish cultural motifs.
