Vintage Japanese Black Ceramic Vase Red Lotus Flowers Hand Painted Japan

Beautiful vintage Made in Japan ceramic vase featuring a rounded, squat form with a dramatic black ground and bold red-orange lotus flowers surrounded by vivid green leaves. Fine linework and gold-toned accents add wonderful detail to the floral design.  The underside is marked with a red Japanese-style maker/decorator seal and retains a gold “Made in Japan” label. The interior and underside are finished in a pale blue-white glaze.  Likely circa 1970s–1990s, this is a striking piece of Japanese decorative pottery.
