About the Portraits Series

These portraits are the lingering traces of those who may have existed somewhere, sometime.

As their existence fades with time, their era, region, and sometimes even their gender become ambiguous.
There is no longer any way to know these individuals, yet they all eternally maintain a quiet and dignified presence.

The foundation of the imagery lies in classical religious paintings, specifically small panel paintings depicting a single saint.
Someone cherished it, and their family prayed before it for hundreds of years.
The panel has warped and cracked, and the paint has faded and peeled in places.
However, the saint's beauty has not diminished; rather, it has become even more beautiful through enduring the long years, and is sublime even in its decay.

A world of blue veiled in a veil.
A figure with silver hair and starry eyes gazes straight ahead with a transcendent atmosphere, as if time has stopped.

This beautiful work unconsciously guides the viewer towards images of happiness and prayer through its title.

Paired with a black frame approximately 4cm wide, featuring unique block-like accents resembling cobblestones.
A black fabric mat is used as the base, and the artwork is set to appear as if floating.
The frame is an original, custom-made frame crafted by an artisan based on the artwork's concept.

For shooting purposes, the acrylic board has been removed due to reflections.
