About the Product
This is a Japanese umbrella made of Kurotake (black bamboo) with red Unryushi paper. This Japanese umbrella is crafted entirely from natural materials, from the black bamboo handle to the smallest parts. The hajiki (the part that secures the umbrella when open) is made of wood, not metal, and bamboo nails are used to connect the parts. The unique sound of the wooden hajiki when the umbrella is opened is pleasant, and the black bamboo fits comfortably in your hand.
Unryushi is Japanese paper made by incorporating long kozo fibers to create cloud-like patterns.
