The Speed Master Bearing is a modern revival of the Turbo Bearing that revolutionized drummers' footwork in the late 1980s to early 1990s. Incidentally, the Turbo Bearing was a masterpiece also favored by the late Munetaka Higuchi [LOUDNESS]! The characteristic of the needle bearing from the Turbo Bearing era was its lack of lateral play, although it wasn't as smooth as a ball bearing. The Speed Master Bearing replicates the lack of lateral play of the Turbo Bearing using a ball bearing, evolving its durability and further enhancing its smoothness! (From manufacturer's website)
