Handmade folk art tree limb needle pin keeper

Description
Item is from a local estate. I have had it for a number of years but have no idea when it was actually crafted. It appears that a middle portion of a tree limb was cut out and replaced with what could possibly be cork. Please review each of the photos as they are an important part of our descriptions.
