This is a TAMA ROYALSTAR vintage snare drum, likely from the 1980s, made in Japan with a steel shell.
I am selling it as part of an equipment clear-out.
I purchased it used about two years ago and have been using it since.
The batter head is a REMO WEATHERKING COATED AMBASSADOR, and the resonant head is a REMO AMBASSADOR snare side head.
The batter head has some stickiness from tape used for muting, so it is recommended to replace it. (See photo 5)
The outer part of the snare wires is slightly bent, so it is also recommended to replace them. (See photo 10)
There are scratches and rust on the inside of the hoops, so I have applied masking tape. (See photo 15)
It features a built-in muffler. Fine adjustments to the muffler can be made by turning the center dial, and the on/off switch for the muffler is easily operated with the outer winged dial. (See photos 12 & 13)
There is not much rust, and it is in very clean condition.
I will tune it to some extent, but please tune it yourself after purchase.
No parts are missing.
