Vlasta Art Doll Pat Thompson 1986 Signed 18" Wood Cloth Shelf Sitter Scrivener's

This is a beautiful example of the early whimsical-Victorian studio work of the late Pat Thompson. Hand-signed and dated 1986 on the foot, this doll was originally retailed at the historic Scrivener's on Broadway, a provenance that speaks to its high-end artisan quality. • Design & Display: Designed as a shelf-sitter, this doll features a flexible cloth body perfect for natural, seated display. • Artisan Materials: Features a hand-painted wooden face, heart-shaped wooden hands, and wooden feet. Thompson famously used imported antique French and Swiss laces and silks; this piece showcases a complex mauve silk and tapestry ensemble with intricate corded trim. • Unique Details: The wooden limbs are hand-painted with delicate floral vines that match the doll's facial accents. • Dimensions: Approximately 18 inches from head to toe (measures roughly 9-10 inches when seated). • Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The paint is vibrant, and the textiles are well-preserved. Includes the original Scrivener's retail tag.
