Traditional Thangka Painting - Handwritten - Made in Nepal - Om Mandala

Thank you for viewing. This is a mandala made in Nepal. It is hand-painted!
The gold color is made with kondei (pigment mixed with gold powder) and shines brilliantly and divinely when exposed to light.

[OM]
The character depicted in the center of this mandala is OM. It is a spiritual and sacred symbol.
It is said to symbolize the sacred sound that was present when the world was born from the universe.
The Japanese characters A-un are based on OM.

[Tanka]
This mandala is a Buddhist painting called a Tanka, often made in Nepal and Tibet.
The canvas is also entirely handmade.
Cotton cloth is pasted onto a wooden frame, and layers of a liquid mixture of limestone powder (chalk), plaster, and pigments are applied until the fabric is no longer visible. The canvas created in this way protects the Tanka from fading damage, and it is said that the colors will not fade for ten years if not exposed to sunlight.

■ Motif
OM is seated in the center of a monk's pavilion. This is a diagram looking down from above at a pavilion for training, with Tibetan Buddhist auspicious patterns drawn at the four entrances.
This is a work that uses a lot of kondei, and it emits a very divine radiance.

The surrounding frame area is a margin as part of the artwork. It is a margin when peeling from the canvas, so you can cut it to adjust the size, leave it as is, or cover it with a mat of your preferred color when framing.
