Mamoru Oshii x Yoshitaka Amano
A legendary original animation born from the collaboration of two young talents.

Angel's Egg, an animation based on the original concept, script, and direction by Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell) and original concept and art direction by Yoshitaka Amano (Final Fantasy series). Released as an OVA in 1985, it garnered a passionate fanbase with its beautiful visuals and an unparalleled, overwhelming worldview.
To commemorate its 40th anniversary, the film has been remastered in 4K from the original 35mm film negative, under the supervision of director Oshii himself. A Dolby Cinema compatible version has also been produced. In terms of audio, the original monaural sound source was analyzed and separated using Sony PCL and Sony Group's sound separation technology, and then reconstructed into 5.1ch surround and Dolby Atmos.
In May 2025, it was selected for the Classics section of the 78th Cannes Film Festival. It had its world premiere screening prior to its Japanese release, once again breathtaking the world with its high artistic merit.
