Antique German Kugel Ornaments - Cobalt Blue Mercury Glass Set (Two 6" & Two 4")
Kugel
An exceptional, investment-grade collection of four (4) authentic 19th-century German Kugel Christmas ornaments in highly coveted cobalt blue heavy mercury glass. This matching set includes two spectacular, rare jumbo 6-inch spheres and two classic 4-inch spheres. True antique Kugels of this size and condition are incredibly rare to find on the market today. Flawless Silvering: The interior mercury/silver lining is in spectacular, near-perfect condition. There is absolutely no flaking, cloudiness, or transparent patches. The reflective mirror finish remains brilliant and fully opaque. True Flush Caps: All ornaments feature authentic, flat brass caps that sit completely flush against the glass body. The original 19th-century setting plaster remains intact beneath the brass rims. The caps are firmly affixed; they have never been forced off or tampered with. The heavy, thick-walled glass bodies are entirely seamless, confirming they are hand-blown antiques rather than modern mold made reproductions. Excellent antique condition with zero internal silvering missing aside from expected microscopic pinpoint age spots visible only under intense, direct close-up inspection. **One of the large 6-inch Kugels features a small, rough manufacturing blemish/open seed bubble on the exterior surface. This is a common characteristic of 19th-century hand- blown glass and does not impact the structural integrity or the stunning internal silvering of the piece**
