Vintage 1980s Banana Republic Mill Valley Ziegler Era Safari Shirt Hong Kong Size Medium  A Piece of Vintage Fashion History: This shirt is from the mid-1980s. Long before it was a mall staple, Banana Republic was a travel-and-safari surplus company. The Mill Valley Era text on the main label represents Banana Republic's original roots. It was founded in 1978 by Mel and Patricia Ziegler as a travel and safari-themed company before transitioning into mainstream. The historical Made in British Crown Colony of Hong Kong marker is prized by collectors, as the territory was returned to China in 1997. During the mid-80s, Banana Republic utilized high-quality manufacturing hubs to produce rugged, adventure-ready garments.  Features rare single-needle stitching along the hems and seams—highly prized by true vintage enthusiasts. Dual flap pockets, rounded bottom corners & button closures. Features Coat of Bananas Crest, a highly sought after marker of vintage status.   Flat Lay: Pit to Pit: 22 inches Length: 30 inches Sleeve Length: 24 inches  Professionally dry-cleaned (pink tag photos & dry cleaning receipt).  Sharp collar points,no holes, no fraying. A few light spots that will easily lift with targeted spot treatment. I did not mention to the dry cleaners as they are so light I missed them until photographing under bright lights.
