Hailed as the second coming of Velázquez, he was a genius painter born in Spain, 1946 (Showa 21) - 1993 (Heisei 5). He also left behind portrait work, painting portraits of royalty and various famous people such as King Carlos (Spain) and Princess Caroline (Monaco). He inherited the lineage of the master Velázquez, painting classical portraits with perfect technique, and on the other hand, painted modernist landscape paintings that could be called the modern Impressionist. While many artists have inherited each style, perhaps only Lladó among painters has showcased both opposing streams with such magnificent and high completion.
