Sappho's Poems, Marie Laurencin Etching, Illustrations, 180 Copies Published
This is an etching by Marie Laurencin.
It is an illustration for the Sappho Poems translated by Edith de Beaumont, published in 1950.
The book contains a total of 23 etchings, but this is a single page cut from it, with works on both the front and back. This is a very rare print, with only 180 copies published.
Laurencin's print raisonné numbers are 263 and 264.
When displaying it, we recommend using vinyl corners as shown in the photo or securing it with thick paper to prevent damage to the paper (this is just one suggestion for enjoying both sides).
Each side has Sappho's poems printed on it.
The work is about 75 years old and has some foxing, toning, and tape residue from removal. Please check the photos.
The listing is for one print, but we will include the frame shown in the photo for those who wish.
