Tadatoshi Nakabayashi
Born in Tokyo in 1937.
One of the leading printmakers in Japan. Professor Emeritus at Tokyo University of the Arts, recipient of the Medal with Purple Ribbon and the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon [3]. A leading figure in copperplate printing in Japan.
1963 Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, Oil Painting Major.
1965 Completed graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Fine Arts, Printmaking Major.
1966 Appointed as a part-time lecturer (assistant) at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts.
Formed Atelier C-126 (Printmaking Research Studio).
1974 Appointed as a lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts (Associate Professor in '78, Professor from '89).
2003 Received the Medal with Purple Ribbon.
2014 Received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon.
Currently: Professor Emeritus at Tokyo University of the Arts, Visiting Professor at Osaka University of Arts, Chairman of the Japan Artists Federation, Director of the Japan Print Association.
