◆Artist: Rembrandt (1606-1669)
◆Biography: A leading Dutch painter of the 17th century, he created over 300 prints throughout his life. In addition to prints such as etchings, he also created copperplate prints using mixed techniques, drawings, and oil paintings. His The Night Watch (1642) is known as a masterpiece of group portraiture. He is also famous for painting numerous self-portraits throughout his life, which are said to convey his inner changes at different times.

◆This work is listed in the catalog of the Rembrandt Copperplate Print Exhibition held at the Kawamura Memorial Museum of Art (Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture) in 1993. The original was created around 1650. This print is a posthumous copperplate print produced in a limited edition in 1998, based on Rembrandt's original copperplate engraving.
It depicts a cow drinking water from a river on the right side, and farm cows in the fields behind. It is an etching of a Dutch rural landscape with a hut surrounded by trees by the river.
