VTG Rogers Silverplate Flatware Set in Fitted Wooden Chest
N/A
Vintage Rogers silverplate flatware set in its original fitted wooden chest. The writing reads WM. ROGERS MFG. CO. EXTRA PLATE. This tells us that It was made by William Rogers Manufacturing Company. Extra Plate means it is silver-plated, not sterling silver. Most sets with this mark were produced in the early to mid-1900s (roughly 1900–1940s, depending on the pattern). The pattern appears to be William Rogers Mfg. Co. Treasure, introduced around 1940. The floral cluster at the tip of the handle with the parallel lines down the length is characteristic of that pattern, and the WM. ROGERS MFG. CO. EXTRA PLATE mark is consistent with it. Based on the photos: Maker: William Rogers Manufacturing Company Pattern: Very likely Treasure (c. 1940) Material: Silverplate (Extra Plate), not sterling silver Condition: Good vintage condition with normal surface scratches and little obvious plate loss. Estimated value If the set is complete with the chest and serving pieces: Local sale: $75–$150 eBay (complete, cleaned, with good photos): $150–$25
