Description
Elegant porcelain tray that could double as a plate. Hand painted blue and yellow floral accents and gold painted trim. Features soft cream insets and delicate blue flower motifs. Made by Mello of Japan. Likely dates from the 1910s to the 1930s Art Nouveau as this motif was specifically designed to compete as an affordable alternative to the famous pieces by Thomas Bavaria of Germany. Size is 9.25 x 9.5 inches. Condition is fair. There is noticeable wear on the gold paint and minor on the painted flowers. Condition issues shown in pics but be advised they do extend around the piece in a similar fashion. Priced to account for wear.
