Oonuma, Teruo [Woman with Arms Crossed] Etching Color Aquatint Limited Edition of 50

By Teruo Onuma
Woman with Arms Crossed
Etching / Color Aquatint, Limited Edition of 50

This captivating print by Teruo Onuma embodies refined aesthetic beauty and poetic resonance within a serene presence. While constructing the figure with extremely simple lines and planes, the artist creates a modern, urban atmosphere by incorporating layers of black, soft blues, and vibrant pinks. The figure of the woman with her arms crossed appears introspective yet exudes a strong presence, quietly stimulating the viewer's imagination.

This work beautifully harmonizes the delicate line work characteristic of etching with the soft color planes of color aquatint, allowing for a full appreciation of its technical artistry as a print. The composition, which seems to oscillate between abstraction and figuration, is highly sophisticated, conveying a contemporary aesthetic sensibility that transcends mere portraiture. The generous use of white space in the composition is also elegant, allowing the artwork to blend seamlessly into its surroundings while adding a distinct personality.

Furthermore, the natural wood-tone frame harmonizes well with the tranquil world of the artwork, creating an impression that is both light and refined. With a limited edition of 50, it holds collectible value and is recommended not only as an interior decoration but also for print enthusiasts and those looking to incorporate modern art into their space.
