What is the Scarf Technique?
A type of stencil print.
Dyeing technique (screen printing or hand dyeing).
The plate is changed for each color, and ink is directly printed onto the fabric.
The techniques used in Lyon, France; Como, Italy; and Yokohama, Japan are considered world-class.
Each step requires the skilled craftsmanship and effort of artisans.
Scarves from major brands appear to be made using this technique.

I have been a fan of Cassigneul for a long time and own several of his works, including lithographs (Pompon Rouge).
I have also spent a lot of time working on Cassigneul jigsaw puzzles, such as the 1500-piece ones.
I purchased this piece because I loved the beautiful pastel colors of beige, purple, and light green, which are so characteristic of Cassigneul's style.

There is some minor damage to the frame on the lower back side.

When I purchased it on another site about 8 years ago, it was almost new. However, after moving, changes in my living environment led to increased humidity, which seems to have caused some damage.
The artwork itself is not affected at all.

Given its considerable size, I believe it would look stunning displayed in a spacious living room without being overshadowed.

In all my years of admiring Cassigneul's work, this is the only piece I have ever seen created using the Scarf technique.
I believe it to be a rare item.
