J. Bernardaud & Co Limoges Demitasse Cup & Saucer Gold Trim and Floral Interior

J. Bernardaud & Co. was established in Limoges, France in 1863, becoming one of the most prestigious porcelain manufacturers in the world. Limoges porcelain has been renowned since the 18th century for its exceptional quality, pure white color, and translucency, made possible by the region's rich kaolin deposits. This particular piece features delicate floral decoration and gold trim, characteristic of mid-20th century French porcelain craftsmanship. Bernardaud pieces were often commissioned for luxury hotels, fine dining establishments, and discerning collectors who appreciated French elegance and refinement. Such teacups and saucers are highly valued by collectors of fine porcelain, antique tableware enthusiasts, and those who appreciate French decorative arts for their exquisite craftsmanship, historical significance, and timeless beauty. Bernardaud continues to be celebrated today as a symbol of French luxury and artisanal excellence.
