The Mogao Caves in Dunhuang are an indispensable presence when discussing Buddhist art.
As one of China's world-renowned Buddhist sites,
along with the Yungang Grottoes and Longmen Grottoes,
it is counted among China's three great grottoes.
Within the Mogao Caves,
it is said that over 2,400 Buddhist sculptures and murals covering a total area of approximately 45,000 square meters still exist and are preserved.
