Description
Tōbei Kamei (1902-1977) was a woodblock print artist in modern Japan, particularly known for his prints and picture postcards depicting famous sights in Kyoto and the surrounding Kyo-raku region.
A set of 10 woodblock prints depicting famous Kyoto sights, presented in a box.
- Title: TEN LOVELY SIGHTS IN KYOTO (木版画京都名所)
- Publisher: Rihyo's print
Found this set of postcard-sized prints while cleaning out my family's storage. The box is damaged, but the prints themselves are in beautiful condition.
As this is quite old, I suspect it dates from before or shortly after World War II.
I don't have much more information about it.
I would like to pass this on to someone who can appreciate its value.
