Vintage 70's Square Scarf featuring an abstract surrealist print by Joan Miro

The artwork repeated across this textile is a faithful print of Figures and Dog in Front of the Sun (Personnages et chien devant le soleil), a celebrated 1949 masterpiece by the Spanish Surrealist artist Joan Miró. The motif depicts a highly stylized, biomorphic human figure paired alongside an abstract representation of a dog, standing beneath a bold, fiery red sun. Made in Korea It relies heavily on Miró's signature mid-century vocabulary, incorporating bold black outlines, playful starbursts, delicate geometric tendrils, and flat planes of primary colors (red, blue, and black). Unlike the original painting's flat canvas backdrop, this specific textile adaptation features an overlapping, tiled pattern layout set against a textured, gold-beige woven-print background. This scarf is made of lightweight, semi-sheer polyester microfiber, which mimics the fluid drape of silk while remaining highly durable and resistant to wrinkling. The edges feature a machine-stitched overlock / merrow edge hem, a standard method for securing lightweight mid-to-late 20th-century synthetic scarves to prevent fraying.
