Description

This is a ukiyo-e woodblock print titled Itsutomi by Chōbunsai Eishi. It is a beautiful print.

The triptych Seirō Geisha Senshu (Selection of Yoshiwara Geisha), which depicts geisha from Yoshiwara, is composed so that each panel can be appreciated individually. Itsutomi, shown looking back with a bachi (a plectrum for playing the shamisen) in hand, is a masterpiece that captures the spirit of a geisha dedicated to her art through her slender, upright posture. The background is printed with a small amount of mica mixed into the ink, creating a soft sheen.

There are no noticeable scratches or stains. It is in beautiful condition. The frame is old and has some commensurate scuffs. It has acrylic, not glass. Please consider the frame as a bonus. This item, including the frame, would normally cost around 35,000 yen.
